ÐMT + Rare Koinu — two matter lanes
Status: Informative ADR

Decision
Dogenals ships two complementary “digital matter” products. They MUST stay separate protocols and ledgers.
| Lane | Protocol | Bitcoin analogue | Product |
|---|---|---|---|
| A — Field commodities | ÐMT (p:"dmt") | TAP DMT / $NAT | Reusable NAT-style deploys; flagship $BITS |
| B — Atomic rarity | Rare Koinu | Ordinals + rare sats | FIFO koinu identity + Doge-native tiers |
Taproot ≠ TAP ≠ ÐMT
- Taproot — Bitcoin consensus upgrade. Not required for ÐMT on Dogecoin.
- TAP Protocol — large Ordinals metaprotocol that hosts DMT among many features. We do not port full TAP.
- ÐMT — Dogenals-native DMT slice: elements, deploy, mint, transfer, miner redirect.
Why Dogecoin still works for Lane A
Permanent ~10k DOGE subsidy weakens Bitcoin’s “second subsidy as reward → 0” marketing. It does not block field-derived issuance: nBits still exists; supply is still non-arbitrary. Framing: chain-produced, anti-grift, miner-aligned.
Why both
Bitcoin popularized both ideas under overlapping “matter” language. Dogecoin can be better at both:
- Lane A: generic miner redirect for any tick; Treats-style asset ids; vectors-first.
- Lane B: Doge-native tiers (epochs / eternal 10k era) instead of broken BTC Rare/Epic copies — already specified; dogex implements classification + FIFO index.
Non-goals
- Merging
$BITSbalances into koinu ranges. - Waiting for Taproot on Dogecoin.
- Cloning TAP authorities / AMM.
